Empowering Educators in Dorset

Why is it Important?

What Can Members Do?

Members can get involved locally in a number of important ways to help build a strong and effective campaign across Dorset:

  • Attending branch and district meetings is a key first step, as it keeps members informed and connected with collective plans.

  • Volunteers can support workplace organising by encouraging colleagues to ensure their details are up to date and by talking to fellow members about the importance of voting in the upcoming ballot.

  • Becoming a school or workplace rep, or supporting existing reps, is another powerful way to strengthen organisation on the ground.

  • Members can also take part in local campaign events, meetings, and briefings, helping to raise awareness and build momentum ahead of the ballot period from 3 October to 15 December.

Every conversation and every action contributes to building the unity and turnout needed to secure a strong result.

The Save Education Campaign is vital in protecting the future of our schools, our educators, and the young people we serve, as it highlights the urgent need for proper funding, fair pay, and sustainable working conditions across the education sector.

Without strong action, the challenges facing schools—such as staff shortages, budget cuts, and increasing workload—will continue to undermine the quality of education available to children.

That is why colleagues across Dorset are coming together in strength and solidarity to prepare for the formal ballot running from 3rd October to 15 December.

This period will be crucial in ensuring that every member’s voice is heard, demonstrating our collective determination to defend education and secure the resources our schools and communities deserve.
